Who We Are

Lake Country Community Legal Clinic Staff includes an Executive Director, Staff Lawyers, Community Legal Workers / Paraglegals and Support Staff. Our team works together to provide the best in client services both for legal assistance and community support.

Our Staff

Jo-Anne Boulding B.A. (Hons.)LLB.

Executive Director Jo-Anne Boulding is a lawyer with over 25 years of practice. Jo-Anne has been practicing law in Muskoka for more than 20 years. She started at the Muskoka Legal Clinic in 1991 as the staff lawyer. Since then she became the clinic's Executive Director and expanded the clinic services into the District of Parry Sound. At that time the clinic changed its name to Lake Country Community Legal Clinic. Her areas of speciality are human rights, disability law, elder law and victims of crime. Jo-Anne is very active in the community and works with community groups like Interval House, Elder Abuse Prevention Muskoka and Almaguin Community Partners. Like the rest of the staff, Jo-Anne is passionate about Social Justice and is tireless in advocating for the disadvantaged and marginalized in our community.

Jayson Swain B.A (Hons.) M.A. LLB.

Jayson Swain is a Staff Lawyer. Jayson is a native Muskokan who grew up in Bracebridge. A stint as senior class president at BMLSS sparked a strong interest in politics that inspired him to study Political Science at York University. After obtaining both his B.A. and M.A. in this discipline, Jayson decided to study law at University of Windsor with a view to ultimately returning to his hometown to practice. Upon graduating in 2004, Jayson obtained an articling position at Lake Country Community Legal Clinic. After being called to the bar in 2005, he stayed on as a Staff Lawyer. During his tenure with the clinic, Jayson has been fortunate enough to work with a diverse group of clients from the Districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound. His areas of speciality are housing for tenants, workers compensation, and disability law. In his spare time, Jayson enjoys fishing, hanging out with friends and watching TV.

Samantha McBride B.A. J.D.

Samantha attended law school at the University of Ottawa.  She completed her articles at Keewaytinok Native Legal Services in Moosonee, Ontario, where she discovered her passion for clinic law.  She was called to the bar in September 2015 after which she took a year off and relocated to North Bay to spend time with her extended family.  Samantha and her family have since moved to Bracebridge.  She is very excited to be a part of the LCCLC team and looks forward to becoming an active member of our community.

Susan Campbell B.A. M.S.W.

Susan Campbell is a Community Legal Worker and licensed paralegal. Susan has been working in Ontario community legal clinics for over 30 years. She has been with our Legal Clinic since it opened in 1990. Previously she worked at a legal clinic in Toronto for 10 years. Her areas of speciality are housing for tenants, organizing low income residents, injured workers and disability law. Susan is passionate about social justice and is the organizer and teacher for our Social Justice Speakers School. Susan lives in Vankoughnet and in her spare time she loves to garden and make pottery.

Kim Reeves B.A.

Kim Reeves is a Community Legal Worker and licensed paralegal. Kim has worked in legal clinics almost 30 years. She has been a Community Legal Worker at the clinic since 2001. Previously she had worked in the Nipissing Community Legal Clinic for 14 years. Her areas of specialty are provincial social assistance law focusing on overpayments and disability law. She also represents victims of crime. Kim lives in both North Bay and Gravenhurst and her favourite Disney character is Mickey Mouse so she visits him on an annual basis.

Mary Ann Paterson

Mary Ann Paterson is the Office Manager. Mary Ann has been with the Legal Clinic since 2005. Before moving to Bracebridge she worked as support staff for Legal Clinics in Ottawa and Toronto. She manages the administration of our clinic, is the go-to person for computer support and also is our in-house bookkeeper. Mary Ann also fills the roll of back-up receptionist and manages the website. She loves to take to the outdoors and spend time with her daughter during her down time.

Amanda Sheppard

Amanda is the Receptionist and Administrative Assistant. Amanda is the friendly voice on the phone, makes appointments and provides administrative support to the legal caseworkers. She is active in her community and busy in her role as Mom. In her time off she loves to cook and spend time with family.

Heather Hay

Heather is a Community Legal Worker who joined us to assist with the ever increasing number of ODSP appeals.   She is also involved in many community endeavours including Elder Abuse Prevention Muskoka and Muskoka Pride. Heather is always available to help out wherever she is needed.  She has been a great addition to the LCCLC team.
